AlbrechtConsult contributes to the further development of the National Access Point
After the successful kick-off on 22 June 2022 in the form of a video conference with 320 participants, the first stage of the Mobilithek (“Germany’s data platform that gets you moving”) went online at the beginning of July 2022. Developed by T-Systems commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV), the Mobilithek will replace the two platforms Mobility Data Marketplace (MDM) as the national access point and mCLOUD as the open data portal in phases over the next few years.
AlbrechtConsult supports the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) in its role as the operator of the Mobilithek in technical aspects and is responsible for testing the Mobilithek interfaces. Furthermore, having many years of expertise, AlbrechtConsult is responsible for all topics related to DATEX II (CEN/TS 16157), the European data exchange standard that enables the electronic exchange of traffic data in a standardised form.
The Mobilithek will adopt all the functions of the aforementioned platforms, but will offer further possibilities in the future, such as API interfaces for metadata as well as IDS (International Data Space) connectors. Through a European system network, both the national exchange of data and the Europe-wide collection and provision of mobility data will be possible. Real-time data and a variety of digital offerings will enable the development of state-of-the-art services and apps that will help to avoid congestion on highly frequented roads, plan routes with different types of vehicles, or evaluate and improve the utilisation of public transport.
AlbrechtConsult has been involved in the development and standardisation of DATEX II for many years and is represented in the relevant expert committees. With this profound knowledge and transport-specific IT expertise, AlbrechtConsult will accompany the advancement of the national access point in the coming years.
