AlbrechtConsult supports the test concept and technical trials

The Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg is testing the “Intelligent Roadworks Warning Light”, a new technology for precise positioning of roadworks. As part of the pilot project, 20 roadworks warning lights will be procured, transmitting their location data to a central system in real-time and with a high degree of accuracy. Within the project, AlbrechtConsult is preparing the test concept, defining the scope of services for the system supplier and providing technical support for the trials.

The trials will examine the technical functionality under various conditions as well as different use cases before wider deployment becomes possible. The long-term objective is to make the positioning data of all roadworks on federal and state roads centrally available and accessible with a high degree of accuracy.

Alongside the technical aspects, integration into the operational processes of road maintenance depots and regional authorities is a key success factor. Handling during ongoing operations should remain simple and cause as little additional effort as possible in roadworks safety management.
