Focus on DATEX II and Management for Electronic Traffic Regulations

AlbrechtConsult will also be actively involved in the follow-up project of the same name, NAPCORE, and will support BASt in carrying out its responsibilities in European standardisation. AlbrechtConsult already successfully supported the previous NAPCORE project for Germany on behalf of BASt. These activities will now be continued seamlessly.

The work focuses on the two Sub-Working Groups DATEX II and METR. DATEX II is the European standard for the centre-to-centre exchange of road traffic-related data. METR (Management for Electronic Traffic Regulations) addresses the end-to-end management of digital and electronic traffic regulations – from publication through to use by road users and automated vehicles.

A particular focus is on embedding METR in a NAP-centred European data ecosystem and further developing the interfaces with existing CEN standards such as DATEX II. At the same time, international standardisation activities at ISO level will be taken into account and translated into European requirements.

AlbrechtConsult brings many years of specialist expertise to this work. The company has been actively involved in the further development of DATEX II and digital traffic regulations for many years. Among other contributions, AlbrechtConsult acted as editor for the DATEX II standard CEN/TS 16157 Part 11 on machine-interpretable traffic regulations.

Through its involvement in NAPCORE, AlbrechtConsult is once again contributing to the interoperability of European mobility data, the further development of digital traffic regulations and the safe, trustworthy use of data in the European transport area.
