In response to the 5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership (5G PPP) initiative and the development of a strategic 5G implementation agenda for Cooperative, Connected, Automated Mobility (CCAM), CEDR, representing European road operators, accepted the invitation to cooperate and contribute to this document with the other stakeholders.
The progress and adjustments that road operators will have to go through before CCAM becomes commonplace will be a major item on the road operators’ agenda in the coming years. Improving connectivity is critical to success, and a coordinated effort between industry and public agencies at all stages of development and deployment will be beneficial to all parties.
The importance of infrastructure providing a proven physical and evolutionary digital network on which automated driving can be built is a key focus. To provide relevant strategic guidance on this topic, we as AlbrechtConsult are fully committed to our partners’ efforts to continue to update the 5G implementation agenda and build a shared vision of 5G in the context of CCAM.
The development of a 5G ecosystem for CCAM and the key drivers for infrastructure rollout will be points for us to focus on in all our areas of activity in the future.
