AlbrechtConsult develops C-Roads specifications for cooperative mobile warning trailers in Bavaria
AlbrechtConsult is consulting the Bavarian State Construction Directorate on the C-Roads-compliant use of cooperative mobile warning trailers on federal and state roads in the Free State of Bavaria.
The Bavarian State Construction Directorate aims to deploy the C-ITS service Roadworks Warning across the secondary road network in order to reduce the risk of accidents during roadworks involving mobile warning vehicles. AlbrechtConsult’s work includes designing the target architecture for the overall system, specifying the requirements for roadside units and mobile warning trailers as well as their operators, specifying central system interfaces, and creating a DATEX II v3 profile for publishing the data in the Mobilithek.
A key technical focus is translating the strong motorway focus of the C-Roads specification into requirements for operation on federal and state roads, while still ensuring C-Roads compliance. The overall system is also being designed to minimise any impact on the existing processes used by road maintenance depots when operating mobile warning trailers.
